Christmas Jam Recipe

Ingredients:

2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries (hulled)
4 cups granulated sugar
1 package (1.75 oz / 49 g) fruit pectin
(powdered or liquid, depending on brand instructions)
½ cup orange juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground cloves (optional)

Instructions
Prepare the Fruit:
In a large saucepan, combine cranberries, strawberries, and orange juice.
Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 10 minutes, until the cranberries pop.

Mash or Blend:
Use a potato masher to crush the fruit or blend briefly for a smoother texture.
Add Sugar and Spices:
Stir in the sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and cloves. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, stirring constantly.
Add Pectin:
Add pectin according to package instructions and boil for another 1–2 minutes, stirring continuously.
Test for Set:
Place a small spoonful on a cold plate — if it gels slightly after cooling, it’s ready. If not, boil for another minute.
Jar the Jam:
Carefully ladle the hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving ¼ inch headspace. Wipe rims clean and seal tightly.

Cool & Store:
Let cool at room temperature. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months, or process jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes to make them shelf-stable.
