3-Ingredient Copycat Mounds Bars

As someone who juggles a busy career and a love for cooking, I often find myself craving sweet treats that are quick and easy to make. Enter the 3-ingredient copycat Mounds bar! This recipe is perfect for those moments when you need a chocolate fix but don’t have a lot of time. Inspired by the classic candy bar, these homemade versions are dense, chewy, and gooey, capturing the essence of the original with just three simple ingredients. They’re a hit at parties or as a delightful afternoon snack.
These homemade Mounds bars are perfect on their own, but if you’re looking to elevate your dessert spread, consider pairing them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. They also go wonderfully with a cup of coffee or a glass of cold milk, making them a versatile treat for any occasion.
3-Ingredient Copycat Mounds Bars
Ingredients
2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
2 cups dark chocolate chips
Directions
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the sweetened shredded coconut and sweetened condensed milk. Mix until the coconut is fully coated and the mixture is sticky.
2. Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper. Press the coconut mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly and pressing down firmly.
3. Melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
4. Pour the melted chocolate over the coconut mixture, spreading it evenly to cover the entire surface.
5. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate is set.
6. Once set, remove from the dish and cut into bars. Enjoy!
Variations & Tips
For a twist on the classic, try using milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate for a sweeter flavor. You can also add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the coconut mixture for an extra layer of flavor. If you prefer a nuttier taste, sprinkle some chopped almonds on top of the chocolate before it sets. These bars can also be made vegan by using dairy-free chocolate chips and coconut condensed milk.
